ECG stops maintenance work to reduce outrage

The West Africa Gas pipeline is said to be completed next month, that is March 2020. Due to this activity, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) announced that it has halted maintenance of work on transformers in greater Accra and its environs.

ECG further explain that, the move is to ensure that power outages which result from shut down of transformers for maintenance work will reduce to minimum.

Kwame Jantuah, an energy expert sees this decision to be wrong because, stopping maintenance on transformers guarantee the solution to the power crisis as a postponed one.
